I’m Kat Francis, leadership coach, international speaker and media voice for ambitious women.
I talk about what it really takes to get where you want to go, the beliefs and systems that can make women play smaller, and what happens when the path forward stops feeling clear.
Sometimes that conversation happens on a stage. Sometimes it happens during a team workshop, around a panel table, or in front of a television camera. Wherever it happens, my job is the same.
I say the thing other people leave unsaid and share the real story behind it, so women can recognise themselves in it and think strategically about what comes next.

I know what it takes to create an event people actually want to attend and rave about after, because I’ve done it myself.
I co-created In The Room, a career event series for senior women across Melbourne’s creative, PR, strategy and marketing industries. Its first event focused on career strategy and self-advocacy, including promotion, pay, visibility and future-proofing women’s careers. So when I speak at your event, I’m not thinking about my part in isolation.
I’m considering the whole experience you’re creating so I can shape the conversation around what your audience will get the most value from.
I don’t believe in dragging the same presentation from stage to stage
and swapping the logo on slide one.
I bring my clear point of view, tested ideas and a practical structure that resonates. Then I shape the examples, emphasis and takeaways around the people who’ll actually be in the room.
So whether you're hosting a leadership conference, marquee event, team offsite, or strategy day,
I design and deliver engaging sessions that your audience will love because of the authentic storytelling, meaningful insights and practical tools I always bring.
I care about your event being a raging success

What you can expect from me:
Kat was proactive,
intentional and ‘get sh!t done’ from the get-go.
She made everything easy and focused, suggesting dates, timings, and was a step ahead at every stage. Kat was driven, intentional and quietly confident throughout the leadup to the event — like a big sister, someone in your corner, and a driving force in the success of the event.
On the day, she was fantastic. Her presentation was thought-provoking and challenging. I noticed the audience actually respond to her talk — they reflected on their own situations, just as I was. She executed the delivery, the crowd resonated with it, and she gave people a clear call to action that really got them moving. I’m so grateful we could get her over to NZ. I know everyone would have taken something away with them.

It’s easy to wait for your manager, HR team or workplace culture to create the conditions for your next move. I help ambitious women work out where their own power sits, think more strategically about the long game and take practical action before they feel completely ready. The goal isn’t to ignore what the system gets wrong, but to stop handing the system every bit of control.

High performance isn’t particularly impressive when it is held together by exhaustion, resentment and a calendar that seems cruel to even look at. I help ambitious women manage their time, energy and boundaries more deliberately, put systems around the work that matters and stop treating burnout as evidence that they care. The aim isn’t to do less for the sake of it. It’s to make sure their effort is actually taking them somewhere.
Good work doesn’t always speak for itself. Which is annoying because the work has already taken a decent amount of your effort. I share how I built my own profile through honest stories, clear opinions and consistent visibility, without manufacturing vulnerability or turning LinkedIn into a full-time performance. I help audiences find what they want to be known for and start putting themselves out there, even when visibility still feels uncomfortable.

Working parents don’t need to be told to practise more self-care while the underlying pressure stays exactly the same. I help audiences explore how time, energy, boundaries, workload and career progression affect whether parents merely cope or continue to grow. I also give working parents practical ways to create more ease and keep performing without burning themselves out.
Confidence isn’t something you wait to receive before taking action. It’s something you build by testing what happens when you speak up, make the ask, share the idea or put yourself forward. I help audiences design small confidence experiments that stretch them beyond their usual settings, build evidence and make courage feel practical rather than just inspirational.

Self-advocacy, visibility and why senior women keep disappearing before the C-suite.
I’m not interested in telling ambitious women to believe in themselves a little harder while ignoring every outdated structure that’s still in place.
Similarly, I won’t leave your audience with a long list of everything that’s broken and no idea what to do on Monday.
Instead, my superpower is naming what they’re experiencing.
Helping them understand what’s driving it. Then offering a strategic and practical way to move forward. That might mean defining a version of success they’ve actually chosen.
It might mean finding the words to communicate their value.
It might mean having a promotion conversation before resentment takes up permanent residence.
It might mean recognising that the opportunity in front of them looks excellent on paper and is still the wrong move.
Whatever the subject, I leave your audience feeling more clear, more capable and far less alone in it.
